Makela Space 8. Language Is a Living Thing — the honest lie w/Nástio Mosquito
In Makela Space, diaspora is a practice — in the layering of voices, the refusal of single names, the insistence that sound can carry what the archive has chosen to forget. Today's guest in the space is no stranger to any of this.
Nástio Mosquito refuses to stay in one place — geographically, formally, or ideologically. Luanda, Lisbon, Ghent — he carries the Lusophone Atlantic inside him. Music, video, spoken word, performance. He goes by Nastiá, Saco, Cucumber Slice, Zura Zuara. The multiplicity is the work. The shapeshifting is the politics. He calls his work a collection of very honest and sincere lies.
