Contributors: Mother Dubber and Ntone Edjabe
Mother Dubber: Born in Geneva, Switzerland — Trinity Njume-Ebong (a.k.a Mother Dubber) is a curator, researcher and DJ specializing in music history and cultural anthropology. She has been digging records since 2001 and considers her vinyl collection a cultural archive, turning decks into living anthropology, drawing parallels between the African tradition and the modern sound expressions of the black diaspora.
Ntone Edjabe: is a Cameroonian writer and DJ, and the founder and editor of Chimurenga, a pan African publication of arts and politics out of Cape Town. Drawing together a myriad voices from across Africa and the diaspora, Chimurenga takes many forms operating as an innovative platform for free ideas and political reflection about Africa by Africans including the Pan African Space Station (PASS). Edjabe’s practice as a DJ fuses musical erudition and explicit political engagement centered on Africa’s place in the world.
