Bride kidnapping is the act of abducting a woman to marry her. It includes a variety of actions ranging from consensual marriage to kidnapping and rape. Bride kidnapping considered being a huge problem in Kyrgyzstan and according to the statistics is only growing each year. Some 60% of all women in Kyrgyzstan were either consensually or forcefully kidnapped with the purpose of marriage.
