Die Technikkoordination des freien Radios Radio Dreyeckland braucht
Verstärkung!
Wir suchen ab Spätsommer/Herbst 2023 eine technisch versierte Person, die Lust auf das selbstverwaltete linke Medienprojekt Radio Dreyeckland hat. Wir bieten Netzwerk- und Computertechnik sowie digitale und analoge Studiotechnik von ziemlich schrabbelig bis auf dem allerneuesten Stand, abenteuerlich verlegte Elektro- und Netzwerkkabel und eine wissbegierige Redaktion, die dich mit technischen Problemen und Fragen auf Trab hält. Du wirst im Team mit einem weiteren Techniker arbeiten, der im gleichen Stellenumfang im wesentlichen für den Server / Netzwerk / Website zuständig ist. Außerdem gibt es begeisterte Redaktionsmitglieder, die immer wieder Ideen und Know-How einbringen.
Da wir ein selbstverwaltetes Projekt sind geht der Arbeitsbereich auch über das Technische Hinaus. Das heißt beispielsweise: Putzdienst. Die Techniker*innen sind auch Teil der Betriebsgruppe. Diese trifft sich einmal wöchentlich und diskutiert und entscheidet über sämtliche Belange eines selbstverwalteten Medienprojekts.
Du musst dich nicht in all den Bereichen unseres Sendebetriebs auskennen. Der Vollständigkeit halber geben wir euch unten trotzdem einen detaillierteren Überblick. Wichtig ist uns vielmehr, dass du selbstständig arbeiten, dir nötiges Wissen nach Bedarf aneignen und bei Problemen gut kommunizieren kannst.
Der Technikbereich von Radio Dreyeckland umfasst im wesentlichen die Bereiche:
_Studiotechnik_
Betreuung, Wartung, Reparatur der Audiotechnik und Neuanschaffung
der nötigen Geräte. Hier gibt es auch Überschneidungen zum
Bereich Servertechnik (Audio-Netzwerk mit Dante und Linux-Audio-
Server mit Jack und Liquidsoap). Zu unseren 4 lokalen Studios
gehört auch noch das Ü-Rad, unser mobiles Studio auf einem
solar-betriebenen E-Lastenrad.
_IT/SystemAdministration_
• Wartung, Unterhalt und Ausbau unserer IT-Infrastruktur
• Betreuung der Arbeitsrechner (Windows und Linux) in
Verwaltung und Redaktionsbetrieb, d.h. vor allem
Softwareprobleme beheben (z.B. bei Aufzeichnungen mit
Audacity)
• Betreuung der Server (Linux) (Aufzeichung, Homeserver, Backup,
Streaming und Automat, Webserver - Filestorage mit ZFS,
Virtualisierung mit KVM und Proxmox, Hosting diverser Dienste
über Docker Compose, geteilte Ordner mit Samba und
Nextcloud, Single Sign On via Keycloak)
• Betreuung mehrerer selbstgeschriebener kleiner Software-Projekte
(Playout-Automatisierung mit Bash und MPD, Studio-Bildschirm
mit Node.js und React, Streams mit Liquidsoap und Jack)
• Betreuung Netzwerk-Infrastruktur vor allem mit Mikrotik-Router
und Switches, diversen VLANs und einer OPNSense-Firewall
_Backend_
• Erstellen von diversen Useraccounts
• Betreuung der Website
• Dokumentation des technischen Aufbaus & Anleitungen in
unserem Wiki
_Sendertechnik_
Gehört nicht zum Alltag. Betreuung der Decoder/Encoder-Geräte,
Modems, sowie die RDL-Geräte (Sender usw.) im Sendeturm auf
dem Totenkopf im Kaiserstuhl. Die Arbeit der Technikstelle
umfasst hier im wesentlichen kleine Wartungsaufgaben und
Beobachtung der Geräte um im Notfall schnell die verantworliche
Firma anzurufen.
Möglich wäre die Einstellung z.B. als Midijob mit Bruttolohn 685,00 €
Arbeitsaufwand: 12h/Woche
Beginn: flexibel ab 1. Juli 2023
Bei entsprechenden Kompetenzen wäre eine Anstellung zu 18h/Woche möglich mit höherem Gehalt, da wir derzeit nach weiterer Verstärkung in unserem System-Administration Bereich suchen.

Job offer: Technical Coordination at Radio Dreyeckland
Our technical team at the local community radio station Radio Dreyeckland needs reinforcement!
Starting in late summer 2023, we are looking for a technically skilled person who is keen on working at the self-managed left-wing media project Radio Dreyeckland. We offer network and computer technology as well as digital and analog studio equipment ranging from pretty scrappy to the very latest, adventurously laid electrical and network cables, and an inquisitive editorial team that will keep you on your toes with technical problems and questions. You will be working in a team with another technician who is essentially responsible for the server / network / website in the same job scope. There are also enthusiastic editorial team members who are always contributing ideas and know-how.
Since we are a self-managed project, the scope of work also goes beyond the technical. For example: Chores such as cleaning. The technicians are also part of the allover-coordinating group “Betriebsgruppe”. We meet once a week and discuss and decide about a variety of issues concerning our self-managed media project.
You don't have to be familiar with all the areas of our broadcasting operation. Nevertheless, for the sake of completeness, we will give you a more detailed overview below. What is important to us is that you can work independently, acquire the necessary knowledge as needed, and communicate well when problems arise.
The technical department of Radio Dreyeckland mainly includes the following areas:
_Studio technology_
Support, maintenance, repair of audio equipment and acquisition of new equipment. There are also overlaps to the area of server technology (audio network with Dante and Linux, audio server with Jack and Liquidsoap). We have 4 local studios as well as the Ü-Rad, our mobile studio on a solar-powered e-bike.
_IT/System Administration_
- Maintenance, upkeep and expansion of our IT infrastructure
- Support of the workstations (Windows and Linux) in administration and editorial operations, i.e. mainly fixing software problems (e.g. for recordings with Audacity)
- Support of the servers (Linux) (recording, home server, backup, streaming and Automat, web server - filestorage with ZFS, virtualization with KVM and Proxmox, hosting of various services via Docker Compose, shared folders with Samba and Nextcloud, Single Sign On via Keycloak)
- Supporting several self-written small software projects (playout automation with Bash and MPD, studio screen with Node.js and React, streams with Liquidsoap and Jack).
- Support network infrastructure mainly with Mikrotik router and switches, various VLANs and an OPNSense firewall
_Backend_
- Creation of various user accounts
- Support of the website
- Documentation of the technical setup & instructions in our Wiki
_Transmission technology_
Does not belong to the daily routine. Taking care of the decoder/encoder equipment, modems, as well as the RDL equipment (transmitters etc.) in the transmitter tower on the Totenkopf in the Kaiserstuhl. The work of the technical department here mainly includes small maintenance tasks and observation of the equipment in order to quickly call the responsible company in case of emergency.
Possible employment e.g. as midijob with gross wage 685,00 €
Workload: 12h/week
Start: flexible from 1 July 2023
With appropriate skills, employment at 18h/week would be possible with higher salary, as we are currently looking for further reinforcement in our system administration area.

* A three-member application commission will invite applicants for an interview between the receipt of the application and July 4th.
* The application committee will decide on one or more applicants* to recommend to the full editorial board.
* On July 5th 2023, the full editorial board meeting will be held, which will then make a final decision on an applicant*.
